Do you know how to stop it?

Deep Sky

Each image is constructed from dozens of exposures, typically of five or ten minutes, so hours, sometimes several nights, are involved. To these are added tens of dark, flat and bias frames, which control for noise and artefacts that would, otherwise, detract from the image. Processing generally takes an hour or so.

In Between

These are 'normal' images that appeal to me, for a variety of reasons. I hope you find something here, too.

In Camera

These are fantasies constructed on a table top. The building, composition and lighting generally take a few days. The challenge is to create the image in the camera as far as possible and to minimize manipulations in post-processing.

Film

Analogue photography is inherently slower than digital. This, combined with the distinctive 'feel' of operating  film cameras makes for a more mindful experience. Images will accumulate here only slowly, but they will keep coming as long I and my cameras hold out.
